Raphaël Kirgo, filmmaker.
Engineer by training, filmmaker by vocation. Strudel Prod is the production company he runs to bring cinema standards to businesses.
I shot my first films in 2000, camera in hand, without imagining it would one day be my job. After studying mechanical engineering in France and then in Germany, I decided in 2014 to make a living from my passion: filmmaking.
In 2016 I shot my first feature film, Je la rencontrerai (Meet Her), released in French cinemas in 2019. In October 2021 I took part in the La Selva Film Accelerator on the island of Lanzarote, where I made three short films mentored by Werner Herzog: Volver a la Tierra, Lago Verde and Barco Fantasma. I am now preparing my next feature.
For me, filming is a constant exploration of the human condition and of the beauty of the world. I am a calm person and a good listener, who enjoys the intensity of a shoot as much as quiet contemplation.
That is the mindset I bring to every corporate film: understand people before filming them, look for the right words rather than a slogan, and never deliver anything I am not proud of.
